Alert: 24 Hours to Stop the Keystone XL Pipeline!
The U.S. Senate could vote as early as
tommorrow, February 14th, on a plan to revive construction of Keystone XL!
Despite President Obama’s rejection of the Keystone XL Pipeline, certain members of Congress are trying to force its construction. Sadly, some moderates are playing along, and this bill may have the votes to pass!
We need urgent and immediate action today to try and stop this bill in its tracks. Please join us in opposing any bypass of Obama’s decision to stop the pipeline. We need you to:
- Sign the petition put together by our friends at 350.org, with the goal of gathering 500,000 signatures in 24 hours.
- Contact Senators Jon Tester and Max Baucus, urging them to oppose any effort to bypass Obama’s decision and revive construction of the Keystone XL Pipeline.
Let our Senators know that that they should not go around President Obama and the evaluation process needed to protect Americans – all to appease Big Oil! Keystone XL is a very real danger to our clean air, water, and our climate. If this effort to bypass Obama’s decision is succesful, there will be no evaluation process, and no new route identified through Nebraska to protect the Ogallala aquifer.
