On May 21, Montana Women For will be sponsoring An Evening With Elsie Fox. Elsie is an extraordinary 101 year old political activist who was involved with Union Organizing in the United States in the 1930’s and has stayed politically active ever since. A Communist, she has never bowed to considerable public pressure to change her views about the need for Americans to share their wealth in an equitable fashion and to insist that the government physically and monetarily protect its citizens and guarantee them all food and housing and medical care and the right to a good education.
Karen Stevenson has spent several years with Elsie, taking down her story and turning it into a wonderful and inspiring book She will be reading excerpts from the book, and there will be copies at the event to buy and have signed by both Ms Stevenson and Ms. Fox.
